(1) Praise to God for evidences of grace (1:3–10)

A. Faith that is growing (v. 3a)

B. Love that is increasing (v. 3b)

C. Faith that is enduring (v. 4)

D. Distinctions God is revealing (vv. 5–10)


(2) Petition to God for ongoing fruit (1:11)

A. That God would make them worthy of his calling

B. That God would fulfill every resolve for good

C. That God would fulfill every work of faith by his power


(3) Priority of this prayer (1:12)

A. That Christ may be glorified in them

B. That God’s grace would be on display
