Leadership & Staff

Meet the team.

Erik Raymond

Senior Pastor | Elder

A Massachusetts native, Erik moved to Nebraska with the Air Force, and it was there that he heard the gospel for the first time and was converted. Soon after becoming a Christian, ministry became a driving priority for Erik. After serving as a pastoral intern and associate pastor, he was sent out to plant Emmaus Bible Church in Omaha, NE. In 2018, he came back to New England to serve as the Senior Pastor of Redeemer. Erik is a frequent contributor to several publications including Tabletalk, 9Marks, Desiring God, and Crossway. His blog, Ordinary Pastor, which he’s written since 2006, is hosted at The Gospel Coalition. He's the author of Chasing Contentment: Trusting God in a Discontented Age, Is Hell for Real?, and  He Is Not Ashamed: The Staggering Love of Christ for His People. Erik enjoys spending time with his wife Christie, and their six children, and one grandchild.

Lay Tan

Elder

Lay was 15 years old when he was invited to a church in Singapore where the gospel was clearly preached from the pulpit. After several months of listening to the preached Word, he believed. He has been blessed by preachers like Charles Spurgeon and John MacArthur. Lay received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore, and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. He works as—you guessed it—an engineer, at ADINA R & D, Inc. right here in Watertown. He and his wife May have two children, and he enjoys reading, kayaking, hiking, and enjoying nature. In ministry, Lay is passionate about the truth: "For this cause I was born,” says Jesus, “and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth" (John 18:37).

Timothy Craig

Assistant Pastor

Timothy was born in New Hampshire. After living in Mexico and Chile, he and his wife Amy and have returned with their two daughters.  He enjoys creating art, spending time outside with his family, and Bible studies.
