Senior Pastor | Elder
A Massachusetts native, Erik moved to Nebraska with the Air Force, and it was there that he heard the gospel for the first time and was converted. Soon after becoming a Christian, ministry became a driving priority for Erik. After serving as a pastoral intern and associate pastor, he was sent out to plant Emmaus Bible Church in Omaha, NE. In 2018, he came back to New England to serve as the Senior Pastor of Redeemer. Erik is a frequent contributor to several publications including Tabletalk, 9Marks, Desiring God, and Crossway. His blog, Ordinary Pastor, which he’s written since 2006, is hosted at The Gospel Coalition. He's the author of Chasing Contentment: Trusting God in a Discontented Age, Is Hell for Real?, and the forthcoming He Is Not Ashamed: The Staggering Love of Christ for His People (Crossway, 2022). Erik enjoys spending time with his wife Christie, their six children, and one grandchild. Together they enjoy the outdoors, history, and sports.
Associate Pastor | Elder
Andrew has been at Redeemer for 12 years. Called to ministry in high school, he's burdened to see another Great Awakening in New England. He's a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with additional study at Oxford University and Harvard University. He loves to teach, and serves as an adjunct professor at Boston Baptist College and at Reformed Seminary of Latin America in Medellín, Colombia. Though he biologically descends from Italian immigrants of Boston's North End, his spiritual ancestors are definitely the Puritan pastors who served those streets centuries earlier. In his spare time you may find him giving tours of cobbled back alleys or old graveyards, or otherwise baking bread, gardening, or ruminating on biblical theology. Andrew met his wife at college, an English major named Emily Dickinson, and they homeschool five creative kids and an adopted orphan named Oliver Twist (a Lab-Catahoula mix).
Church Planting Resident | Elder
Dave grew up in Western Massachusetts before moving to Boston for undergraduate studies in psychology at the University of Massachusetts-Boston. During that time he met his lovely wife Stacey, who attended South Shore Baptist Church in Hingham. Dave and Stacey heard the gospel at SSBC and were converted. Dave served as a pastoral intern at South Shore from November 2011 until May 2015, during which he also completed a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Before coming to RFC, Dave served as an Associate Pastor at South Shore Baptist Church and Tremont Temple Baptist Church. Dave and Stacey live in Weymouth, MA with their two children. Dave plans to launch Redeemer's first church plant, Immanuel Church, in Weymouth in April 2022. He enjoys spending time with his family at the beach, fishing, reading, music, and watching Boston sports with friends.
Lay was 15 years old when he was invited to a church in Singapore where the gospel was clearly preached from the pulpit. After several months of listening to the preached Word, he believed. He has been blessed by preachers like Charles Spurgeon and John MacArthur. Lay received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore, and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. He works as—you guessed it—an engineer, at ADINA R & D, Inc. right here in Watertown. He and his wife May have two children, and he enjoys reading, kayaking, hiking, and enjoying nature. In ministry, Lay is passionate about the truth: "For this cause I was born,” says Jesus, “and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth" (John 18:37).
